The difficult part about trying to judge Laura Bush's speech last night for me was that I wasn't her target audience: women were. I thought the anecdote about the man having to do laundry and turning everything pink was something that would make women laugh, but not being a woman I couldn't be sure.
I've seen various reactions from women around the blogosphere, and I think she did her job well. She already has a 70% approval rating, so I think people were generally inclined to take her message well. But with the "we don't hide under desks any more" line, I think she really brought it home...
